Patchowork 2011 part 1

We had such a great time hanging out with everyone at Patchwork today. A big thank you to everyone that came out to support. I am still in shock at how much we were able to raise for RUFF but more on that later. There were so many great pics of the event that I decided to split them up. Here's Part 1.
The Silent Auction started at 11am and ran till 3pm
While everyone was waiting we had plenty of fun activities
Custom Patchwork Buttons
Lots of fun HARVEYS giveaways like raffles, stickers, postcards, pencils, etc...
...and a fun craft project where you got to make your very own HARVEYS tile coaster
There were several designs to choose from
It took a few minutes for them to dry which gave everyone a perfect opportunity to check out the rest of patchwork.
I had to get a pic of this group with their PBN.
This was the lucky winner of the one-of-a-kind zipper pull charm bracelet, which matched her silver bag perfectly.
I snapped this pic of a charm bracelet that Sandie made herself.
Melanie Hosted a Design Lab and explained the process of how we make every new bag. I'll be posting more detail on this for all of you that weren't able to make it so stay tuned.
It was so great to see so many younger girls with their HARVEYS bags.

These sisters were so adorable. I was very impressed with how the older one customized her bag.
She even asked if Melanie and I would sign it.
This girl won this bag almost 3 years ago on our Newsletter contest back when we first released the Little Collection. Before we had Facebook and the Blog we had a monthly Newsletter.
We had a raffle giveaway every hour on the hour.
Lacey's Nails matched her Wild Cherry Clutch Wallet.
A lot of people drove a long way to come to Patchwork.
This was the first time she wore her "Death or Glory" Sid bag. It looked brand new.
I spotted these girls while I was grabbing a bite to eat at the lunch truck.
Sporting her new Razzleberry collar and leash that her mommy won in the silent auction.
This bag is way old school. She said she bought it 12 years ago and has over 20 bags.
We were able to raise $4,000 for RUFF. This is way, way, way more than I ever expected. I am truly touched and humbled by your overwhelming generosity. Thank you so very much everyone. Your donations will be going to a very worthy cause.
And a huge thank you to our HARVEYS Crew, volunteers:
Addrienne
Christopher
Carin
Erin
Irene
Nicola
and Sharon
Who graciously gave their personal time to help out RUFF. We really appreciate it guys.

Charmed.

These are a few of our past and present bag charms.
Irene Barker used to our Retail Stores. Now she's part of our Operations team and even helps us out in the Design department from time to time. She created a line of one-of-a-kind jewelry using some of our charms and hardware, exclusively for the silent auction at Patchwork tomorrow.
She also has her very own booth at Patchwork where she will be selling her artistic creations. If you're coming out tomorrow be sure to check out gatita bonita (pretty kitty).

Blog Love

Mindy Harris emailed this LINK to her blog: Country Fairy Tale.
She wrote:
"Hi Harveys!! How are my favorite group of people? So I recently started a blog and in honor of hump day purse dump day I featured my favorite bags on my blog.

Hope you like it and everything I said was ok. Have a great day the Harveys way!!!

Thanks Mindy. We loved it and everything you said was awesome.

Mouse Hunting

This very clever design was sent in by Amy Glass.
   She wrote:
Thought you might get a kick out of the attached photo....three Harveys fans gathered at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, FL for a 2 day scavenger hunt on May 12/13, 2011.

We had a blast!  And I think we had the most AWESOME team name and t shirt.  What do you think?

    ~Amy Glass

P.S. Two of the team members carried Harveys bags during the Hunt.  A Red, White and Blue Mickey CT and a Red MM with a black bow!  With our shirts, we were decked out in the BEST brands!

Thanks for sharing Amy and for making HARVEYS a part of your adventure.

DYK?

Did You Know, the Patchwork Event inspired the Patchwork Collection? It was first released at Patchwork 2009 and each one came with a free "I am A seatbeltbag" Canvas Tote.
We had a ton of requests to bring back the Patchwork Collection so this year we gave it a fresh mix of prints and patterns.
I found the original sample of the "I am a Seatbeltbag" canvas tote and it will be included in the silent auction at Patchwork.

The Eagle Has Landed

The Airstream made it to Indianapolis
Our good friend Dennis Peterson and his son Tyler, drove it all the way from California, over 2,000 miles. The rest of our crew flew out from Orange County Airport this morning.
If you live anywhere near the Race come out and see us. We'll be right outside the stadium so you won't need to purchase a ticket to the race.

Rosette Necklace

No this isn't the latest creation from the HARVEYS design team.
Tammi I. came up with this all on her own. She emailed this picture and wrote:
"As graduation is approaching, I was asked if I wanted a carnation or an orchid lei and being silly I said I wanted a Harveys Lei.... Since you guys don't have any Lei's for sale as of yet... I created my own using the rosettes I had on hand (it'd look better if the colors matched but oh wells)....
-Tammi I"
Great job Tammi. Thanks for sharing and congratulations.
At Patchwork Melanie will be recruiting all of you budding designers so be prepared to be creative and if we end up using your design you'll get the first one off the production line for free. Heck we may even name it after you. More details to follow.

Training Wheels

Yesterday I rode along the Santa Ana River trail to the Beach and up to the Huntington Beach Pier where there was a surf competition going on.
I'm training for a 100 mile bike ride to benefit Multiple Sclerosis which will be held this October.
It's a great cause and it's forcing me to get out there for some much needed exercise.

Cherry Pick

We decided to release Wild Cherry in the Clutch Wallet and Minnie Wristlet so even if you don't get a Wild Cherry Seatbeltbag you can pick one up to mix and match with your classic Black, Red or Green Seatbeltbags. And it looks great with the Black Cherry Boat Tote too.

Melanie has always been wanting to do a Cherry Print Seatbeltbag. It's such a timeless print. I hope you're loving it as much as we are.

Fur Friday

Why are Cats so darn curious?
Whenever you're working on something they seem to always want to be right there, sometimes even siting on it. So cute.
Juliete Thiel sent us this picture of Sophie and wrote:

"Just wanted to share my fur friday picture with you.  Sophie enjoys the Harveys deliveries almost as much as I do!  She gets to use the box as a new hiding place :-)"

If you would like to share a pic of your furry friend, on in or beside your HARVEYS bag (or box) send it to info@seatbeltbags.com

Lily Rose on Lily Rose

Lily Rose shows us just how to wear the Lily Rose Seatbeltbag.
You can double up the chain and wear it on your shoulder...
Take off the chain and wear it as a clutch or use the chain at full length for cross body.
It's also available in Red and Black

Will You Marry Me?

Whenever we go to the movies I love watching all of the Movie Trailers. This was such a clever way to propose.

Now all she needs is a Lily Rose Seatbeltbag.

Here's Your Sign...

Comedian, Bill Engvall's famous quote pokes fun at those who don't see the obvious, even when it's starring them right in the face.
On our recent road trip to Austin, Texas we drove over 3,000 miles round trip. No matter what state we were in we couldn't help but notice hundreds of signs posted along the highways, reminding us that wearing your seatbelt is the LAW! Here are some pictures that Melanie took.

Next week is Seatbelt Awareness Week so please remember to Buckle Up!
