To continue on the "VAMP" theme this week and leading up to something special for all you creatures of the night we have some sweet music to make or just show you. Here is top ten favorite Vampire themed songs. You may not believe us but we actually have more but we had to scale it back for brevity.
10. The Upsetters - Vampire
Lee Scratch Perry seems to have an obsession with Vampire's as his own solo output features many a vampire themed song but we love this upbeat close to rock-steady dub track from his Upsetters years.

9.The Moontrekkers - Night of the Vampire
The Moontrekkers were and are a little known Rock and Roll Instrumental group from the U.K. in the 1960's. This song was produced by the ever weird and tone deaf genius Joe Meek. Give it a listen and get groovy.

8. King Horror - Dracula Prince of Darkness
This is just a classic reggae kitsch record. King Horror really was the king of such fair.

7. Don - Soul Dracula
This is some odd exotica lounge soul from Thailand. If you want to really scare some people at your halloween party put this Über-rare track on it and get the those leftover weirdos to dance the night away.

6. Outkast feat Kelis - Dracula's Wedding
This track is a very underrated cut from Speakerboxx/The Love Below which happens to be one of the best albums of the Aughts. This is such a fun and quite frankly odd song about love maybe or marriage being forever or... I give up.

5. Future Bible Heroes - I'm a Vampire
This is off FBH's Vampire themed concept album Eternal Youth. Its a fun 80's pop avant-garde anthem with a tinge of feminism and vampirism seems to be analogous with youthful naiveté.

4. Hot Blood - Soul Dracula
Funky Soulful(or soulless) disco funk track from 77 that will continue to live on like a vampire in my halloween playlist getting all the Vamps to dance on the ceiling.

3. Tuxedomoon - No Tears
An electro-punk-goth hymn. I could imagine those vampires turned as teenagers, being forever angst-ridden, listening to this in their coffins.

2. Bauhaus - Bela Lugosi's Dead
Is their any other song that epitomizes Vampire music, I mean Bauhaus plays the song in the beginning of the Tony Scott weirdness that is The Hunger(staring David Bowie). Its a masterpiece of ethereal rock and really sets the mood for a night of terror.

1. Philip Glass and the Kronos Quartet- Todd Brownings Dracula Re-Score
I fell in love with this score when I watched a live performance of it a few years back and I always watch the film now with this score as it comes with the option on most new DVDs of the film. Take a listen to this ethereal masterwork from the brilliant Glass, probably the only piece of music a vampire would actually enjoy.
